Description. Fully septate pyritic internal mold bearing serpules, with one side not prepared and sutures well exposed in direct light (left photo). Discoid and compressed shape, with 50% covered whorls and a high trapezoidal section. The slightly convex sides converge towards a narrow and flat venter, with angular shoulders. The low umbilicus, sloping at 45° and with a rounded edge, is relatively open. Its edge bears proverse bullae, stretched and prominent. The sides appear smooth but, on the middle photo in raking light, we see that each bulla gives two weak, proverse and falcate ribs, distinct only on the last third of the external whorl. One shorter intercalatory rib separates here and there two consecutive pairs of ribs. Each rib ends in a blunt ventrolateral clavus. These clavi alternate on either side of the siphonal line and form an angle of 60° with it.

Remarks. Personal discovery. Anahoplites with more or less open umbilicus and very weak ornamentation. Found in the intermedius zone in England, Anglo-Paris Basin and Escragnolles (Var). The specimens in the table except CP-469 have a slightly concave venter. The holotype is smooth, apart from the umbilical bullae still visible at the beginning of last whorl. Then its umbilicus opens. Jaffré's copy has a slightly less open umbilicus, more distinct bullae, attenuated clavi and faint ribs. We have large smooth fragments of body chambers showing a rounded venter, coming from the Graviers à Opis Formation near Saint-Florentin (Yonne). They probably correspond to the "Beudanticeras" cited by Houdard (1932) in these gravels, because the genus Beudanticeras does not reach the intermedius zone.
